Our Prevocational Service Program is designed to provide work experiences to develop educational, social, recreational, and job readiness skills in preparation for community employment. Individuals have opportunities to develop skills through a variety of subcontract jobs within our facility.
Expanded opportunities are also available through community-based jobs including various cleaning sites, the agency retail store (Your Neighborhood Thrift & Gift), and The SunGarden Greenhouse. These activities encourage healthy lifestyles, social awareness, team building, and community participation.
Janitorial Training & Ground Maintenance Program
Individuals interested in learning an occupational skill have the opportunity to train and participate in our facility-based Janitorial Training Program. Individuals learn the basic skills required to work in the janitorial field such as garbage collection, restroom cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, dry/wet mopping, etc. Employment training opportunities for ground maintenance include cutting the grass with a push or riding mower and shoveling snow.
