Southwest Opportunities Center, Inc. (SOC) began operating in December of 1988 as a private, non-profit (501c3) organization providing Community Rehabilitation Services. In 1994, services moved into a new handicap-accessible building, based in Lancaster's Industrial Park located in the heart of Grant County, WI. Services are extended to Iowa, Lafayette, and Crawford Counties.
Our agency is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of dedicated volunteers who live throughout Grant County.
Funding for programming is provided by various county and state government agencies, sub-contract work performed within our facility, business production and assembly services, confidential document destruction services, retail sales, janitorial cleaning services, and the sales of promotional items. Other funds are obtained through fund raising events, private donations, and grants from individuals and organizations.
Referrals to SOC programs come through county and state agencies that provide services to adults with disabilities. Students within the community school system can be referred as part of School-to-Work transitioning programs. There is also the option to obtain programming through private-pay for individuals who are on county and state agency waiting lists. For further information please contact the executive director.
